Three jw men in a SUV

just a few minutes ago i was sitting facing my front window when i see two men in white shirts carrying books walk by towards the back of my fourplex.

i waited to see if they were who i thought they were and sure enough they were jws each carrying a bible and that little yellow book.

i walked out of my apartment towards the front to get my mail and i see the two men enter a suv and a third man was sitting in the back.

That must be one heck of a stare you and your husband have.

The pieces finally come together

this afternoon i got a letter stating that i was accepted to accompany a ww 2 veteran on a flight to washington dc to visit the ww2 memorial in september.. www.honorflight.org.

i also was called to check up on the health of several horses that some friends of my wife adopted, they are very underweight belgians, and these.

new owners want to make sure that they are taken care of.

I also was called to check up on the health of several horses that some friends of my wife adopted, they are very underweight Belgians, and these

new owners want to make sure that they are taken care of. ( I am a registered volunteer humane investigator with the state of Illinois)

I also took the day off work as a vacation day to have my dog visit, and do physical therapy at the hospital (we do this also as volunteers,,, well my dog does all the work. She is an Australian Shepard they always needs a job to do )

She played catch for two hours with several people who were either elderly, or who had a stroke.

I feel that this is something that is very, worthwhile, and sometimes very emotional , esp. when a stroke victim who is depressed actually

smiles at me and makes a real effort to throw the tennis ball for May. It was a heck of a lot of effort actually getting her to become a certified dog here in Illinois. certifications, vet. exams, shots,,,, I actually had to be interviewed, get a background check, and several medical tests.

Today she worked with 4 people, and everyone of them wholeheartedly enjoyed their sessions.

On the way home I went past my old kingdom hall, and the service groups were finishing up their afternoon going door to door.

It struck me how different my life has become, I am doing things that 2 - 3 years ago I would never have even considered doing, and how much more challenging, and meaningful life has become to me.

I can HELP people in actual helpful ways without having to mindlessly push the beliefs and doctrines of the wtbts at every available chance on them.

And yet going by, I saw many of the same people I have known for 20 to 30 years getting out of their cars with a degraded, worn down look on their faces after being in service ( it also may have been partially from the heat).

Have any of you had an experience like this ,,, a time when the "broken" pieces of your once jw life come together to reflect a new improved version of yourself that suddenly might have really surprise you ?

you do not have to be disfellowshipped, even if you were shunned after being marked or after fading.

all comments are welcome, such as who shunned you, how long since family have spoken to you, what your situation is, why you are being shunned and how it has made you feel.

I have been DAed for two years now.

The actual DAing process was somewhat of a re;ief for me, and I have not seen much of the local witnesses at all.

Funny thing, when I'm out driving and I see groups doing fs, I slow down, beep and wave as I drive away.

People Who Refuse to Tip at Restaurants are Embarrassing!

egg and i were treated out to dinner three times last weekend by out of state visiting relatives.

just found out last night that they don't believe in tipping, at all!

we suggested the places to eat and frequent those places ourselves.

Change We Can - Ministerial Service

suggestion:.

since the society is looking for young men to be ministerial servants, why not include qualified single women?

women already lead as pioneers.. women already work in the society and branch offices.

I once had a friend who attended the Lincoln Illinois hall back in the 80's.

They had an elder who ruled with an iron fist, and since there were not too many brothers there, he started to use sisters for mag. & literature duty.

This went on for about a year before the co came in and put a stop to it.

Auchwitz Video

this was on the news last night, it seems many people are having a hard time figuring out how to deal with it.. the man in the middle is a survivor of this camp, and he is surrounded by his children/grandschildren/great-grandchildren.

is this video an insult to the people who died at aushwitz, or a celebration that life went on for the survivors ??.

personally, i look at it 50 - 50, but a more time appropriate song might have been a more positive thing.

listening to an uncomfortable talk / demonstration.

i was thinking this afternoon about a sister who was married to a witness guy who worked pt, they had one 5 yr. old boy.

and a 1 yr. old girl.. one evening at the tms she was giving talk # 3, and halfway through the talk she stopped, looked a little flustered, and said "i can't do this anymore".

she proceeded to get off the stage, and walked out of the hall with her husband looking very red - faced while he was gathering up the kids.. shortly afterwards, she was df'ed and left her husband for another guy.. back then i was just mortified regarding what she said, ( along with most of the congregation) but now i understand her position.. another extreme demonstration was in the late 1980's.

Another extreme demonstration was in the late 1980's. The Hopp sisters from Crystal Lake were giving a demonstration about how to place one of the magazines during the service meeting. One of them started giggling, then the other one chimed in.

They started laughing so hard, they couldn't continue with the part, one of them was married to the cong. po, so it was doubly painful to watch

this crash and burn..

good for her, she seems to have found A purpose in her young life.

Wait 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 years,,,,,, she will no doubt become wiser, and bitter about loosing all that time walking door to door in the hot sun when she could have been developing a life..

So sad.

Great News: Beavis & Butthead Are Coming Back!

mtv announced that mike judge is making some new beavis & butthead videos that will pretty much be similar in style to the original series except that some content will be updated like the boys' viewing lady gaga videos on mtv and making all sorts of snide remarks.. were you into beavis & butthead??

this was posted in the men's room stall, i hear the instructions in the womens room was more detailed.. this was in addition to having a "bathroom attendant" handing out 1 paper towel per person.. i haven't felt so childish since i was in grade schooll, i had to wonder if all the tall people around me were really grown men and women.. .
